Barry Schulist Personal Trainer/Owner

My fitness career began in 1986 when I was hired as a personal trainer by Lakeshore Athletic Club in Chicago. In 1991, I opened Strictly Fit, a fitness-based management, training, and consulting company. I am currently manager and work directly with clients as a personal trainer and all-around motivator.

My fitness credentials include being an Ace (American Council on Exercise) certified trainer as well as over 20 years of experience in the fitness and personal training industry. I am a former 1988 Illinois Bodybuilding Champion.

I continue to integrate the bodybuilding lifestyle as it has instilled in me a sense of discipline, helped me overcome obstacles, and taught me that struggle is a necessary part of life.
Currently, my overall health and wellness philosophy has evolved to encompass more of a complete mind, body, and spiritually-based fitness lifestyle.

I started working out at a very young age, was always into athletics. The guys would see me workout at the gym so frequently that I earned the name Ms. Fitness. Then, women would come up to me and ask me questions about my results. So, I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer. I have a true passion for the human body, fitness, and overall health.  I have worked at Xsport Fitness and other health clubs in the city. I love being a Personal Trainer because I get to help people learn and enjoy fitness in a new way.

My philosophy of fitness is that anyone can be healthy and look great, regardless of who and what age you are.
Having an overall healthy lifestyle promotes longevity, looking fabulous and feeling great.
